Zwiedzanie, informacje

Znajdujący się w wieży katedry Świętojańskiej dzwon Tuba Dei udostępniony jest do zwiedzania od 1. kwietnia do 31. października codziennie w godz. 9.00-16.30, w niedziele i święta w godz. 14.30-16.30. W pozostałych terminach zwiedzanie na zamówienie.

Na górę prowadzi około 200 stopni wąskich, krętych i stromych, ale dla niezapomnianych wrażeń warto tam się wdrapać.

Od 1500 r. w wieży Katedry Świętojańskiej wisi niezwykły dzwon - Tuba Dei (Trąba Boża). Wyjątkowość jego polega na tym, że jest nie tylko największym polskim dzwonem średniowiecznym, ale również jednym z największych (do niedawna drugim największym) w Polsce. Natomiast do momentu odlania słynnego dzwonu Zygmunta na Wawelu (1521 r.) toruński Tuba Dei dumnie nosił tytuł największego dzwonu w Królestwie Polskim.
Dziś stanowi nie lada atrakcję, zwłaszcza gdy kilka razy w roku zabrzmi. Nie raz w swej ponad 500-letniej historii był narażony na zniszczenie czy wywóz jako łup wojenny.
